As If In A Dream

“It was a recurring dream, to be travelling nude while everyone else was clothed. Then, one day, as a stranger in a new city, I made the dream a reality.”

The Naked Violinist – Out Now!

Standard

The Naked Violinist is the newest book in the Naked For Her Art series. It’s about a music student who’s trying to cover her tuition fees by busking outside of the concert hall. After a series of events she ends up with an offer she finds very hard to refuse. Here’s an excerpt:

“Do we get to choose?” he asked.

“For five pounds? Absolutely. As long as it’s for solo violin, of course.”

“No, I mean for fifty pounds. Do we get to choose what you take off?”

I felt suddenly embarrassed, remembering what Trinity had written beneath my own little request message.

“Oh, I’m sorry, a friend wrote that there. For a joke.”

He tilted his head and the note began to head back to his wallet. It was only then that I saw that, yes, it really was a fifty pound note.

“Yes, sorry…” I said quickly, “It’s fine. But you don’t get to choose.”

My eyes were on the note. That was a week’s money in one tip!

“How much would I have to give you if I wanted to choose?” he asked with a half smile.

“It… depends what you’d choose, I guess,” I said nervously.

“I’m just joking,” he said, suddenly relaxing and dropping the fifty pounds into my case. “It was my wife’s idea.”

The Naked Violinist is out now on Amazon.

“I foolishly thought I could keep my sideline a secret, but as I took the drinks over I knew the game was up. I guess tomorrow in the office was going to be… ‘interesting’.”

Noisy Neighbour

“From eleven o’clock every morning the guy next door practices the most exquisite violin pieces. I let my mind wander as I listen, fantasising that one day I’ll have the courage to knock on his door and invite him in for coffee.”
